a rising dilemma in the digital era
Children’s eyes have an underdeveloped pigment that helps filter out strong light rays. This means that compared to adults, they may have a higher risk of retinal damage since their maturing eyes allow more bluelight to reach the retina. Over time, increased exposure to blue light may even lead to macular degeneration and gradual loss of vision.

What Exactly is Blue Light?
Blue light is a range of light with the highest amount of energy in the visible light spectrum. Blue light is actually all around us, the sun being its main source. But with the advent of technology, it has now infiltrated our homes by way of smartphones, laptops, tablets, LED TVs, and even common household items that emit artificial light.
Blue Light as a Skin Ager
Several studies suggest that blue light penetrates deeper into the skin than UVB rays, triggering a photochemical reaction to cells, destroying them and causing permanent damage. It can penetrate all the way to our dermis, where our collagen and elastin live, resulting in wrinkles, under-eye circles, and other signs of ageing.
How Blue Light Affects Sleep
A recent article by Harvard Medical School reports how blue light has been shown to affect our body’s natural release of melatonin, a hormone involved in controlling our circadian rhythm - the body’s biological clock that tells you when to sleep, wake up, and eat. When the body clock is out of sync, this not only disrupts sleep but also affects your mood, metabolism, and productivity - preventing you from slaying your goals!
Statistics show that millennials check their smartphones 157 times per day. That means millennials are at a much higher risk of blue light exposure each and every day.

We’ve Got You!
As an all-women team whose daily grind requires working in front of computer screens, we understand how stressful it is to cope with the harmful effects of blue light exposure.
Made from the latest revolutionary technology, these lenses are built with blue light-blocking polymer to filter out strong blue light rays emanating from electronic devices. Unlike most computer glasses that come with an orange tint, our frames are designed to resemble regular glasses without affecting the way you perceive color, keeping you comfortable and stylish at the same time.
